Let's get Derby...
Mint Juleps in hand, bowties, large hats and Southern accents... today marks the 137th annual Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY. Unfortunately, I couldn't join all the fine gents and ladies (164,858 in attendance - new record since 100th Derby) with my very own Lilly dress and floppy hat to sing "My Old Kentucky Home" before the race -- living on the other side of the country is a bit of a distance factor. However, I streamed it live from NBCsports.com like a true a fan while "attempting" to study my LSJ (Law, Societies, and Justice) notes at Odegaard Library.

The Horses
1. Archarcharch
2. Brilliant Speed
3. Twice the Appeal
4. Stay Thirsty
5. Decisive Moment
6. Comma to the Top
7. Pants on Fire - 6th female jockey and she hopes to be the first female jockey to win the Derby
8. Dialed In
9. Derby Kitten
10. Twinspired
11. Master of Hounds
12. Santiva
13. Mucho Macho Man - biggest and youngest horse on the field
14. Shackleford
15. Midnight Interlude
16. Animal Kingdom
17. Soldat
19. Nehro
20. Watch Me Go

And out of the blue.... ANIMAL KINGDOM takes it home!
funny... since most thought Dialed In or Mucho Macho Man would win the race, especially it was Animal Kingdom's first race on dirt.
Anywho... Congratulations to Animal Kingdom and his jockey, Johnny Velazquez!
