UGH. I had been so good.... like really good... like takes-her-vitamin-C-and-avoids-large-crowds-and coughing-children-good.... and then it hit me.

First, a fever - then, body chills... and an hour later, I said "hello" to the porcelain in my bathroom and realized that no amount of bronzer could take the green out of my face.

It was official. I hit the mother of all sickness.

Gallons of water, antibiotics and the first season of Gossip Girl later - I am finding myself a little bit better. With chicken soup on the stove and a hot cup of tea in my hands, I'd say that all is well. Old seasons of my favorite tv shows (Gossip Girl and SATC) and all of my favorite chick flicks are waiting for me to watch them over and over as I lay in bed all day. And oh yes... I still have two blog posts to write. As I attempt to recover from my sickies, I'll have to fill you in on my latest adventures to Canada for Eco Fashion Week and of course, the grand opening of TopShop in Vancouver.

'Til those posts actually get written - I guess I'll go back to some more Blair, Chuck, Serena and Nate action... I mean.. I have all day/weekend right?

What are your cold/flu/fever/sickies remedies? Feel free to share in comments below.

PS My recipe for getting over a cold/flu/fever = tons of sleep, hydration (orange juice + water + hot tea), warm chicken soup, a heating pad and cuddling in blankets.

For tea, I recommend a nice chamomile with honey.

  1. I got sick ALL THE TIME last year thanks to some immune system error, and it's definitely the worst! I agree with everything you said and also recommend ginger ale for an upset stomach, bagels or toast for when you're tired of soup, and early episodes of Friends (which air every day on PBS). I also took Ibuprofen as often as I was allowed to :) Feel better girl!

  2. Oops, meant TBS instead of PBS above. (Can you imagine Ross and Rachel following up Kermit and The Teletubbies?!)

    1. Thanks m'dear! I will definitely get some ginger ale, too :) Ooo and yes, that would be hilarious if Friends came after the Muppets. I will say though, I like both of those shows, very much. xoxo
