broody oxblood.

For those of you who follow me on Twitter, I'm sure you've seen my two cents on this fall's it color: oxblood
But don't judge the color by its name, folks.

Oxblood is an absolutely stunning color.

A dark, rich maroon - almost blood-like color that's got a vampy twist to it and when paired with pale greys or metallics reminds me of Valentino's Fall 2009 Campaign -- sultry, smoldering yet classic.

Honestly, it's just a bit unfortunate that this season's color is called oxblood... so when pairing that color with my cute little fur vest, I'm just frightened that someone might accuse me of being a walking guillotine. Despite that, I'm still in love.

The color just screams fall, and I can't wait to paint my closet with it -- I'm thinking scarves, a statement bag, gloves or a fun pair of pumps.

Even better, match the outfit with a dark lipstick, and I guarantee we'll turn heads on a night out.

A little scared to incorporate oxblood into your wardrobe?

Love the color for bold statement accessories - that satchel and belt are divine.

Simple ways of incorporating the color without going over the top -
try a clutch, a simple jersey tank or a pair of booties.

Not Your Daughter Jeans, $98 at Nordstrom
These patterned jeans make the color a little more subtle and not over the top. As we're transitioning between summer and fall, I love how this model styles a bright blue shirt with it.

Ivanka Trump 'Valentina' Pump (Nordstrom Exclusive), $139.95 at Nordstrom
These shoes. LOVE. The metallic heels are so in-trend right now, too. J.Crew recently launched a similar style for their fall collection.

You've seen my picks...
will you wear oxblood this fall?
