store opening :: moorea seal in belltown.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

This past Friday, I had the pleasure of taking a sneak peek at Moorea Seal's first ever store front! Located in Belltown, this store not only serves as a beautiful showcase and extension of Moorea's online shop but it's also, a studio where all the creativity and business planning comes to life. Moorea is beyond talented, and I'm obsessed with her handmade jewelry, as well as her eye for clean design.

Upon walking into her store, I was immediately drawn to a large table of jewelry at the front. That's where I saw it... Moorea's Orion Necklace. The dainty brass fans against the matte black and mixed metals.. gorgeous. I mean... everything was just beautiful. It wasn't over the top - just simple and elegant pieces. Also, there was this really neat, open faceted geometric diamond that caught my eye. It was a gorgeous brass color, and I'm dying to have it on my coffee table as part of my happy home decor.

My favorite part of the store is the stationary sets and printed paper section. I'll admit it.. I'm a huge geek when it comes to letterpress and printed paper. The typography and color-contrasts that Moorea hand-selected were just the right amount of fun, but still elegant. I ended picking up two cards that day - one for Mother's Day and one for a co-worker's birthday. No doubt, I'll be back for more.

I'm beyond excited for Moorea and her recent accomplishment. Congrats to her on this new and exciting project! I hope you all get a chance to visit her store when it officially opens on May 9th.

my accessory picks for spring.

Friday, March 14, 2014

With daylight savings this past Sunday, my mind has been focusing on all things "warm weather" and what accessories to help spring forward my outfits this season.

Recently, BaubleBar has caught my eye with their Parakeet Pop Pendant necklace. This beautiful and intricate statement necklace is the perfect "wow" factor to jazz up a little black dress... or take a casual Friday look up a notch for late night drinks.

Isn't it gorgeous?

Another accessory on my must-have list are a pair of these classic Tory Burch large logo stud earrings. Totally understand that they are simple and minimalist... but with my new haircut, I think I should be rocking something a little more bold than my everyday go-tos of pearl studs.

Maybe I'll even experiment with more dangly earrings... Alexis Bittar anyone?

Holiday Gift Guide with The Accessory: Stocking Stuffers

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Hold onto your beanies and faux fur wraps - the holidays are coming in fast and furious. I can't believe it's already Turkey Week, and Christmas is right around the corner! With all the hustle and bustle around holiday shopping and gift giving, I'm not going to lie... I feel a wee bit stressed. Finding that perfect gift for your loved ones is a challenge. Rest assured, I'm doing my research.... scouring the shops online and in store... reviewing my favorite bloggers' gift guides (like this gift guide from The Average Girl's Guide). Curating some treasures and over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing with you my findings!

First up - stocking stuffers! Totally understand that for some, stocking stuffers can be a mere afterthought. We buy the big gift, and then fill up that little stocking with candy, gift cards, and fuzzy socks. Personally though, I find the stocking stuffers to be really neat because they are usually filled with really useful items such as nice hand lotion or a trio of lip glosses

This year, jazz up your stocking stuffers with these personal picks for your loved ones!

sneak peek: happy home.

Monday, October 14, 2013

I've  been a busy bee this weekend with the rest of my unpacking, decorating, catching up with friends and taking care of my main squeeze who got the sickies... even managed to fit in some home cooking (made homemade lasagna feat. pasta & co. fresh spinach lasagna sheets and roasted butternut squash soup).

But.. I thought I'd share a sneak peek of my home tour!

one of my favorite photos: grandpa and me | styled on a two by two ikea expedit bookcase
kate spade. daisies. oversized diamonds and a creme brulee scented candle.
As I began the home decor styling last night, I reflected on all of the fun recent purchases to make my place a home. Here are a few of my new happy home accessories:
  1. this beautiful, sweet smelling anthropologie capri blue mercury glass candle (above)
  2. the cutest and cheerful coasters from j.crew (above) - similar coasters here from sugar paper
  3. anything from one king's lane... (addicted!)
  4. my brand new coffee table book - kate spade's things we love.
  5. my super, comfy new white pin-tucked bedding

Stay tuned this week as I wrap up the decorating and share with you my happy home via video home tour.
